2018 Workshop applications now being accepted

Applications are now open for the 2018 Urban Journalism Workshop.

The Washington Association of Black Journalists is offering its 32nd annual Urban Journalism Workshop to Washington, DC area high school students.   Those accepted to the program get an inside look at careers in journalism over 8 mostly consecutive Saturdays.  This year’s workshop runs from 3 March to 28 April 2018..  All high school students in DC and suburban Maryland and Virginia are encouraged to apply.  There are no application or program fees.

Former and current journalists from DC based media companies, including NPR, The Washington Post and more, train students in the basics of traditional and multimedia journalism.

Seniors in good standing can compete for a scholarship toward the end of the workshop.

Complete applications should be emailed to: ujwdc@aol.com.  All applications must be received by 31 January 2018 for consideration.  Incomplete applications automatically will be disqualified.
