The Urban Journalism Workshop allows high school students to learn journalism from former and current professional journalists. Students are trained in writing, delivery, ethics, and more for print, radio, and tv formats. The Washington Association of Black Journalists program is in its 31st year. Apply immediately to be a part of this rewarding 8-week workshop.
A scholarship contest for seniors also is part of the workshop.
Orientation is Saturday, 4 March at American University’s Media Innovation Lab (MIL) building. The workshop sessions continue every Saturday through 29 April 2017. A closing ceremony is held in June.
